A.I.S.H.A
Artificial Intelligence on Sport High-performance Athletes
The project A.I.S.H.A originated from the collaboration between the Institute Icare and the research team led by Professor Paolo Castellin from the Mechanical Measurements group at Polytechnic University des Marches (Italia, Ancône).
AISHA – Analysis of swimmers’ motion: studying performance with artificial intelligence algorithms.
The research activity has enabled the study of the possibilities of artificial intelligence algorithms in image processing, particularly in underwater settings where the level of quality and contrast is not always optimal.
This research laid the scientific foundations for the SwimProject, in which the operational model of the swimmer and the selection of significant data to isolate and correlate to identify Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) were developed. These KPIs are the result of research activities at the Icare Institute, which has capitalized on specific knowledge acquired over decades of work in competitive swimming by Research Sector Manager Mauro ANTONINI and the valuable contributions of Institute Director Frédéric LEFEVRE, a double Olympic finalist.
As part of this project, a web platform has been developed to analyze and improve the performances of professional swimmers and quantify them through performance indicators.
The main objective is the in-depth understanding of athletes’ performances through the analysis and processing of trajectories (and consequently angles, speeds, etc.) of certain landmarks related to various anatomical districts.
The extraction of trajectories is done through video capture and the use of artificial intelligence algorithms to reconstruct the skeletal structure of athletes without the need for them to wear markers or other additional devices.
The video processing is done automatically without human intervention, making the process not only faster but also ensuring the repeatability of the data and a level of detail that is difficult to achieve manually.
More than just a revolutionary tool at your disposal, the ICARE Institute accompanies you in understanding, guiding, and harnessing it to develop all the potentials of your athletes.
How It Works
- Easy to setup
- Without any sensor
- Only one underwater camera is needed (gopro..)
- Adaptable to all pools
- Only a simple laptop can do the job
- Evolutionary and adaptable to multiple disciplines
- Easy and providing coaches with a wealth of insights
- Immediate and accurate analysis
- Generate more data compared to human analysts
AISHA Access
To use AISHA platform :
- To login
- Upload your video
- Consult your analyse
As soon as you receive your login and password sent by email, you could add athletes with their names and choose the performance indicators.
Who Is It For
→ Technical Director
→ Technical Advisor
→ Coachs
→ From professional teams to local teams, the platform can provide the same level of analytics and performance insights.
→ Scalability across levels of practice
performance
AI: the most advanced and well-built tool for swimmers.
A revolutionary device that does not exist in reality.
Only one video is needed to analyze swimmer performance and extract plenty of data, establishing connections between them and providing precise measurements.
AISHA can also be applied to other sports.
Goals
- Gather all the data you need and more
- To uncover all the details in athlete acquisition
- Track the progress of individual athletes during training or throughout their careers
- Compare the performances of different athletes
- Choose the parameters for analysis
- Evaluate the key elements that can lead you to success
- Generate meaningful data for your future analyses
